Defintion- Primary research is new research, carried out to answer specific issues or questions. It can involve questionnaires, surveys or interviews with individuals or small groups.
Advantages- The findings are fresh and new and can be help you massively because you do not have to waste time finding research from other people that is beneficial to you. For example, if you are making a short horror film and you want to find out what make your target audience scared then you might create an questionaire to help you find this out. This is effective because it is created by you so the feedback is fresh and unbiased.
Disadvantages- The disadvantage is that it takes time and money to do and also it is a lot easier just to find someone else's work that is beneficial to you. For example, you are making a short film review and you wanted to know what the genral public thought of it. So, you research a questionaire created by someone else to help you understand what they thought about it. This is effective because it informs you.
