Self Generated Research
Self generated research is research carried out by yourself in order to help you with a certain subject. For example, you could create your own survey instead of using someone else's. This is effective because it means you do not have to worry about copyrighting. The advantages of self generated research is that it is your own work so you do not have to copy right it. Another advantage is that it can save money because it is your own research. This is effective because you can save money and use it in other areas. For example, if your are creating a short film and there is a scene where you want to use a scene that was not created by you. This is a bad idea because you might get copy righted and thus could lead to you appearing in court.

Circulation Figures
Circulation figures are how popular something is. This applies to my situation because it shows how popular something is without spending any money.

A newspaper's circulation is the number of copies it distributes on an average day. Circulation is one of the principal factors used to set advertising rates. Circulation is not always the same as copies sold, often called paid circulation, since some newspapers are distributed without cost to the reader.

Sales of DVD's
This is the Disney Pixar Short Films Collection 2 and it include some of the most popular short films out there and the price of this according to Amazon is £4.99. This is effective because they are one of the most popular short film companies out there and they are so cheap. This applys to me because if I wanted to distribute short films then I would have to make it cheaper than them to compete but it costs a lot to make DVD's so therefore, I will make minimal profit.

Ratings are a classification or ranking of someone or something based on a comparative assessment of their quality, standard, or performance.
This applier to my research because it helps me understand what people rate projects before I see them. This is effective because I already have an idea of the quality of the film before I see it.

Responses to Advertising Campaigns
This advert is a positive advert because it is suggesting instead of being annoyed that you have had 140 calories, that you look on the brighter side by saying their are happy calories. This is effective because it is positive media and it promotes Coca Cola as a happy company which can increase sales and revenue for the company.
This is a negative advert for Think and it is about how she was on the phone with her husband while he was driving therefore it lead to his death because he crashed. This is a negative advert because it is directly blaiming the wife for the husbands death and it is suggesting that if she just waited till he got home then his husband will not be dead. The messege for this advert is to not call someone while they are driving.
This apply's to short film because if i want to reflect my review in a positive light then I will use a positive advert but if I want it in a negative light then I will use a negative advert.

secondary research- The importance of research in short films.
The first main thing to note is that research is probably the most important thing in making a short film. For example as shown in the book titled Writing the Short Film. Copper et al states that, "We are, however, suggesting that you become curious in human behavior." (2012). This is effective because if you are making a short film then the subject you are focusing on has to be researched in order to fully construct a great understanding for the audience. This could lead to your short film being really popular around your genre of film.
The second reason why research is important is because it can inform you on a specific topic when making a short film. A really accessible place is to access is the internet. For example, imagine you are making a short film on a specific topic. Then using the internet can inform you on that specific topic of issue. This is effective because this can save you time because the internet is faster than going to the library and reading a book.
The importance of research is key so in order to receive good research then you would have to visit a website. A really good place to get feedback for the importance of research is a forum. A forum is a website where you can share feedback and research with other people. The purpose of a forum is that it can offer you feedback from specific people who are interested in your specific enquiry. A forum is important to research because it can offer you feedback. Attitude to Media Products
Looking at the quantitative data I have gathered I can tell Josh and Benny Safdlee are very popular among the short film genre. For example with their first YouTube video The Black Baloon, has over 80,000 views. This is effective because you usually do not associate short films as really popular.
On the other hand, Michael Demetriou is not as popular as the the previous pair. For example, Safdlee's first film accumulated 80,000 views where as Michael Demetriou's Telephone only gathered 3983 views. Judging by these results i can concluded that he is not very popular among the short film genre scene.
